Food Frontiers: Why What We Eat Matters
Wednesday 28th August, 5.15 pm - 7.45 pm
Picton Library, 2 Dublin Street, Picton
If you care about health or the environment (or food!) then this event is not to be missed. With growing health and environmental challenges, our diets need to change - fast. Come along to learn why The Lancet medical journal, and other international groups, are calling for a Great Food Transformation towards healthy and sustainable plant-based diets.
Three talented speakers will take you on a journey to learn more about the shifts needed and personal steps we can take towards a better future.
Plant-based Nutrition Expert & GP, Dr Luke Wilson, will outline the huge benefits of a plant-based diet for our health.
Environmental researcher Dr Mike Joy will explore ‘The Future Of Food’ in NZ and how we can move beyond current unsustainable practice.
Former farmer and author of ‘Plant Paradigm’, James Wilson, will discuss wider issues with intensive animal agriculture. He will finish by answering some frequently asked questions expressed by people considering a change to a plant-based lifestyle.
Hannah O’Malley, founder of The Better Base, will MC the event and facilitate a Q&A panel discussion following the presentations.
Delicious light nibbles and refreshments will be on offer before the event commences. Copies of James Wilson’s book, ‘Plant Paradigm’, are available for half price if purchased with your ticket - more copies will be for sale at the event.
We look forward to hosting you for a night that could change your life, for good!
